Who can forget wide receiver David Tyree�s amazing catch during last year�s Super Bowl that helped seal the win for the New York Giants. The Giants were forced to put the wide receiver on injured reserve after being on the physically unable to perform list for most of the season because of a knee injury. After trying to get back to practicing, Tyree pulled a hamstring in practice on October 15. The Giants went through every avenue to try to get the 28 yar old on the field but ended up having to place him on injured reserve.
The Giants could have also released Tyree or put him on the active roster but chose injured reserve instead. Tyree has been with the Giants for his entire career since they picked him in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL draft. On top of his amazing Super Bowl contribution last season, Tyree tallied four receptions for 35 yards and 12 tackles. He missed a few games during the season because of a wrist fracture and the death of his mother.
At the time of Tyree�s placement on injured reserve, the Giants are 7 1. Their only loss came against the Cleveland Browns during week six.
