Instead, Stephen Curry abandoned his dream of playing in the ACC and accepted a scholarship to mid major school Davidson of the Southern Conference where he became a three year starter and was twice named Southern Conference Player of the Year.

The attention Stephen Curry gained at Davidson propelled him into the first round of the NBA draft,., where he was the ninth overall selection by the Warriors. He will earn a $2.7 million salary this season.
